For us to get a complete overview of Hip Hop’s newest group, One Pham, we have to take a an in-depth look at the word resiliency. The word resiliency has represented a way of life for LP the Don and Ta Cantone since the beginning. Resiliency means ones ability to recover quickly from misfortune without being overwhelmed by ones environment, community and/or situation.
From the very beginning, One Pham was looked at as long shots in the industry but due to their hard-work, dedication and perserverance, One Pham is turning into one of the best groups in rap today. There was a time when their situation looked bleeked and hopeless. No one was willing to take a risk on two unheralded brothers from the streets, but despite the lack of exposure and viable contacts, One Pham stayed true in the quest in making a dent into the industry.
There was a few times over the years in which the effort looked futile. There were times when it looked as if all of the hours in the studio and long hours on the grind hustling just to try to squeeze out an extra hour of studio time was for nothing. But, that’s when their resiliency came into play. There have been many talented rappers who didn’t have the drive to succeed. There were many who smelled success for a quick minute only for them to lose that drive and sense of urgency and fall back into the depths of mediocrity. One Pham stayed true to their beliefs that someday things would open up and an opportunity will present itself. Unfortunately, that day never seemed to come until now. there have been many people who LP the Don and Ta Cantone have come across over the years, but it seemed as if even the most loyal of comrades started to lose faith in the movement. The only people that seemed to believe in their uncanny ability was themselves. And, eventhough on occassion that self-belief wavered, they continued to grind it out.
What makes One Pham's story so unique and special is that the dedication exuded by them wasnt because of the dreams of walking down the red carpet or grammy nominations, it was simply their love for the art. Its hard to find individuals who possess that same attitude in todays society, but One Pham exemplifies true love for the game.
Growing up in the QueensBridge Projects wasnt an easy task, especially with all of the obstacles and distractions that one faces on a daily bases, but One Pham stayed tru to their cause. Even when the money was low and the weight of the world on their shoulders, One Pham displayed a sense of resiliency that have them on a path to greatness.
In a year in which President Barack Obama was sworn into office, One Pham continues the same rallying cry in which Obama echoed throughout the entire election process which was about the "American Promise". The American Promise is the promise that anyone who works hard and give their blood sweat and tears into their specific endeavor, they will have the opportunity to be rewarded and live the American Dream. For One Pham, what was once and remains just love for an art has matured into that American Dream. Two brothers from the hood, living in the projects, just trying to make it to the next day, now living the American Dream, their American Dream brought about their hardwork, determination and resiliency.
